Graduate Student Wins Society of Neuroscience Award

The Society for Neuroscience awarded Jessie Butts the 2017 Nancy Rutledge Zahniser Trainee Professional Development Award. These awards a presented every year to deserving young scientists who demonstrate scientific merit and excellence in their research. Jessie was chosen for her work, "Differentiation and single cell RNA sequencing of V2a interneurons from human pluripotent stem cells." As part of the award, Jessie will present her work during the Society for Neuroscience conference.

Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day

On Thursday, April 27, 2017, Gladstone welcomed children related or close to its community members for its annual Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day. During the day, the kids enjoyed a family-friendly lunch, liquid-nitrogen ice cream, science screenings, lab and facilities tours, and more.

Ashley Libby, Ariel Kauss, David Joy, Jessie Butts and Oriane Matthys all particpated and make the day special for Gladstone's young visitors.

Over the past 18 years, 418 children have participated in Gladstone's annual Take Our Daughters & Sons to Work Day.
